Summary: SOPING (operating under soping.in) is committed to protecting your privacy. We collect only what we need, use it only for your benefit, and never sell your personal data to third parties.

1.1 Information You Provide Directly:
- Account registration details: name, email address, mobile number, and password
- Profile information: delivery addresses, profile picture, and preferences
- Payment information: billing address, UPI IDs, and card details (processed securely via Razorpay — we do not store full card data)
- Communications: messages sent to our support team, reviews, and ratings
- Seller information: business name, GST/enrollment number, PAN, bank account details, KYC documents
1.2 Information Collected Automatically:
- Device information: IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers
- Usage data: pages visited, time spent, search queries, and clicks
- Transaction data: orders placed, returns requested, and payment history
- Location data: approximate location derived from IP address (we do not track GPS without consent)

- To respond to your customer support queries and resolve disputes

Legal Basis: We process your data based on contractual necessity (to fulfill your orders), legitimate interests (fraud prevention), legal compliance, and where applicable, your explicit consent.
3. Information Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- With Sellers: We share your name, delivery address, and contact number with the seller fulfilling your order
- With Logistics Partners: Delivery providers (such as Shadowfax) receive your shipping details to deliver your order
- With Payment Processors: Razorpay processes payments — they are PCI-DSS compliant and have their own privacy policy
- With Service Providers: Cloud hosting, email service, analytics tools — all bound by strict data processing agreements
- For Legal Compliance: We disclose data when required by law, court orders, or government authorities under Indian law
- Business Transfers: In case of merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred to the successor entity
We never share your personal data with advertisers for third-party ad targeting without your explicit consent.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit between your device and our servers
- Password hashing using bcrypt — your plain-text password is never stored
- CSRF token protection on all authenticated forms
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments

Important: While we take strong measures to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password and do not share your OTP or password with anyone, including SOPING staff.

- Essential Cookies: Required for login sessions, shopping cart, and security (CSRF tokens). Cannot be disabled.
- Preference Cookies: Store your settings like language and currency preferences.
- Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how users interact with our platform (anonymized data).
- Marketing Cookies: Used to show relevant offers. You may opt out in your browser settings.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect core platform functionality.
As a user of SOPING, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete personal information via your profile settings
- Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention obligations)
- Right to Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format upon request
- Right to Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails and promotional notifications at any time
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting past processing

SOPING is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete that account and all associated data.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make significant changes, we will:

- Send a notification email to registered users for material changes
- Display an in-app banner or notification on our platform
Your continued use of SOPING after the effective date of updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
